Brief Description: Tenants Together is a great nonprofit organization that monitors renters' rights in California, seeks to help organize efforts to create or change laws to benefit renters, and does this through education and media coverage.  Their web site has a lot of information about the state and federal laws regarding tenant rights, and what's happening throughout the state.  

For renters and tenants of foreclosed properties, they have a toll free hotline.
